Under the 10-Year Prime Minister Agriculture Modernization Project, Mero Agro Pvt. Ltd. successfully completed the delivery and installation of its patented hermetic GrainPro GrainSafe Bag 1.0 (1 ton storage) in the premises of Dhangadhi based Unique Seed Company Pvt. Ltd. on Jestha 20, 2074 (June 3, 2017).

In collaboration with the Seed Science & Technology Division of Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), Mero Agro built storage capacity of over 10 quintals of maize seed (Rampur-Composite) through bagged storage in GrainSafe Bag. Each bag (sack of woven bag) weighed 10 kgs. The company had been unable to sell the maize seed in the current season despite its high germination capacity of well over 90%. The stored maize seed had a moisture content of 11%.

In order to avoid postharvest loss, germination and quality loss, Unique Seed Company opted to store the maize seed in hermetic GrainSafe Bag hoping to sell the seeds in the subsequent season.
