Stakeholders’ Interaction Programme on Post-Harvest Management and Development was organized by Post Harvest Management Directorate (PHMD)/GoN on 13 February 2017 with support from Sahaj-Nepal Agricultural Market Development Programme. The objective of the programme was to bring together the various actors engaged in programs and activities related to the post-harvest (PH) management sector for sharing the initiatives and learnings. It also aimed to initiate a discourse about the sector’s challenges and constraints. PHMD intends to encourage the establishment of an interactive network of stakeholders. The meeting was attended by various stakeholders including representatives from the government, non-government and private sectors.
Mero Agro Pvt. Ltd. was one of the private sector participant in the event, which provided a good platform for the company to update the audience about its endeavors in post-harvest management activities especially through the promotion of chemical-free hermetic storage and drying solutions from GrainPro Inc. Philippines. The company stressed the need for active collaboration between private and public sector for minimizing Post Harvest Loss (PHL), advocating for quality seeds and grains and ultimately sustained food security and nutrition.
